Report by Jeremy Skidmore
SANDALS Europe managing director Steve Garley has quit the
company after just a year in the job.
It is the second high-profile departure in two years as
Garley’s predecessor Chris May left after only 10 months, at the end of 1999.
Garley did not agree with Sandals chairman Butch Stewart on
how to promote the Caribbean all-inclusive resorts in the UK and both parties felt
an amicable split was the best solution.
Consultant Nigel Cleevely will take over Garley’s role in
the short term until a suitable successor is found.
