Destinations: the majority of Flightline’s business is to Spain, but it can sell seats to anywhere in the world served by UK charter carriers, including Australia and the US. It offers a standby service from all UK airports, although it only has it own desks at Gatwick, Manchester and Glasgow plus 11 airports in Spain. For clients travelling from other UK airports, agents should check the website. Of the 21,000 seats it sells every year, 40% are sold within three days of departure.
WebsitE: a dedicated site was launched for travel agents last September, but so far just 150 agents have registered on it. Freeman said he expected the number to increase as more agents get access to the Internet.
Extra services: although bookings must be made on its website, Flightline opened a call centre in Glasgow two months ago to offer a back-up service to agents and clients booking direct. Flightline also offers car parking in the UK, car hire, holiday insurance and flight cancellation cover which offers a refund on cancellations up to seven days before departure for any reason.
