Early bookers offered £50 deposit incentive

A LOW deposit of £50 per person is being offered as an early-booking incentive on Cosmos’ North America and Canada 2002 brochure.

Product manager David Binns said the programme, valid from this September to December 2002, concentrates on the 13 most popular coach touring itineraries. A larger selection of tours will be available when the main brochure comes out in mid-summer.

“The core product is well researched and works, but new options are always possible,” Binns added.

As an incentive, clients will be able to change a booking from the Earlybird programme to a tour from the main brochure when it is launched at no extra cost.

Binns said the strength of the dollar is currently a problem, but he believes sales will improve next year.

“There will not be the big change in ground costs from this year to next, which we saw from 1999 to 2000,” he said. “Passengers are more attuned to the higher costs in North America, but it is a concern.”

Cosmos is including many excursions in the holiday cost with trips to Gracelands, a day at Universal Studios and a boat ride at Niagara Falls already costed into panel prices.

Prices start at £655 for a nine-day San Francisco and Las Vegas Western Winter Saver.
