Monarch in doubt over future of Florida flights

MONARCH Airlines is expected to drop its Florida flights for
next summer due to falling demand.

The airline will complete this summer’s charter operation to
Sanford International Airport but is unlikely to resume flights for 2002. The
move follows a decision by two key operators to stop using the carrier. Monarch
said it was still hoping to attract alternative companies.

A Monarch spokeswoman said: “A couple of operating companies
have dropped out of the programme for next summer but we are talking to a
number of parties who are interested in replacing them.”
