Le MERIDIEN Excelsior is quickly becoming known for its compassionate, open-arms policy when dealing with forlorn travellers.
Recently a stranded passenger at Heathrow Airport was given free board in exchange for tinkling the ivories. Following widespread media coverage a Greek woman who didn’t speak a word of English and was in distress, was pointed in the direction of the Excelsior.
A Greek-speaking member of staff discovered that the woman had got lost and missed her connection on Olympic Airways. While a room wasn’t going to fix this problem, a waiter on wheels would. He drove her to the correct terminal and helped her check in for the next departure.
