Co-founder of AETA dies following crash

ASSOCIATION of European Travel Agents co-founder Paul
Bagnall has died in a car crash.

Bagnall, 54, dies in his native Middlesborough last week. He
had been airlifted from the scene of the accident in Essex, but subsequently
returned home.

Colleagues in the travel industry described Bagnall as a
dedicated man who worked extremely hard at his Waltham Abbey-based business.

Personal Travel Services managing director Karen Layzell
added: “He was a very nice guy and genuinely tried to help everyone. It is very
sad he has died.”

AETA had 235 members when it went into liquidation earlier
in the year after its credit card facilities were withdrawn, a move that
effectively made it impossible to take bookings.

Bagnall is survived by his wife, Maggie.
