SuperClubs is launching a travel agent incentive and training programme called Learn to Earn.
The move is part of the all-inclusive hotel chain’s aim to improve agent knowledge and provide them with more tools and techniques to boost sales.
Division vice-president sales and marketing Europe Paul Verhaak said: “We have such a diverse product that we want to educate agents on what properties suit certain clients. Many agents know the product but not how to sell it.
“We recognise that travel agents play a vital role in our success and by implementing this programme, we should see sales increase along with agents’ commission. That way we have a win-win situation,” he said.
SuperClubs is targeting a 10%-15% increase on sales once the programme is up and running. The scheme kicks off with a series of training seminars in major cities in the UK backed up by visits from sales representatives.
Once training has been completed, agents qualify for SuperClubs new SuperAgents programme where they can earn either bronze, silver, gold or diamond rewards depending on sales.
Rewards will range from free-night stays at SuperClubs properties to diamond bracelets. The scheme, launched in the US last month, is being rolled out in the UK this summer.
Meanwhile, SuperClubs is opening its second Breezes Resort in Cuba. Following the opening of Breezes Jibacoa near Vadadero Beach in May 1999, the 480-room Breezes Costa Verde will be the group’s sixth property in Cuba. It is due to open in mid-2000.
