AIRLINES have increased their on-line sales since the
September 11 US terrorist attacks.
Amadeus director of corporate strategy Claude Demeestere,
speaking at the Tourism@2001 conference in
France, revealed a sharp increase in bookings made on five major airline
websites powered by Amadeus technology. He revealed 40,000 bookings were made
in October, compared to 30,000 in May. “Airlines are going to use the web to
get rid of empty seats and get passengers on board flights,” Demeestere said.
