TECHNOLOGY consultancy and services company Anite has
acquired reservation software specialists FSS in a deal worth £10 million.
Anite hopes the acquisition will help it appeal to more
markets and double its customer base.
Anite group chief executive John Hawkins said: “The
acquisition of FSS strengthens Anite Travel’s management, customer base and
geographic reach in the tour operator and ferry markets.”
FSS’s reservation products, tour operator and travel agent
businesses will be merged into Anite’s Slough-based travel operations while
Travellog, FSS’s ferry subsidiary, will be merged into Anite’s Carus business
in Finland.
Meanwhile, Anite’s interim results for the six months ended
October 31 revealed a pre tax profit of £13.1 million, a 54% increase on the
same period last year. Turnover was up 41% to £92.6 million and operating
profit rose 74% to £14.8 million.
Anite group chairman Alec Daly described the growth as
strong and said it had been achieved through organic growth and selective
acquisitions.
