n OAGprepares for airline of the year award



OAG, Travel Weekly’s sister company, holds its prestigious Airline of the Year awards on January 26 at the Grosvenor House Hotel in central London. British Airways, Singapore Airlines, Continental Airlines and Swissair have the most nominations.



n British regional airlines two-class service debut



British Regional Airlines will offer a two-class service for the first time on the Cardiff-Brussels service from January 31 with the introduction of a new aircraft. Use of a 49-seater Embraer 145 in place of a smaller Jetstream 41 turboprop will also give the British Airways franchise carrier 50% more capacity.



n sabena offers business-class discount



Sabena is offering UK passengers cut-price business-class fares to 35 European points until March 31. Examples are London City-Frankfurt at £302 return, Heathrow-Madrid at £342 and Glasgow-Milan at £425. Flights are via Brussels. The fare is valid for seven days and does not include a Saturday night stay.



n monarch runs manchester agent competition



Monarch is giving agents the chance to win a range of prizes, including holidays, for selling its new non-stop flights to Malaga and Alicante from Manchester. Bookings for the services, which start in May, must be made by the end of March.
