Scottish agents have slammed British Airways for not increasing capacity
between Scotland and London despite soaring demand for its new low-cost
domestic fares.
Agents claim they
are being forced to put passengers on waiting lists because flights between
Glasgow and Heathrow are fully booked. They also claim they are having to put
customers on low-cost carriers, despite clients asking to fly with BA.
The carrier cut domestic fares by up to 70% earlier this year in a bid
to compete with the low-cost carriers. However, capacity was cut on the Glasgow
to Heathrow route last October when BA switched from a Boeing 757 to a smaller
B737
