TOUR operators have been putting together
emergency plans to fly holidaymakers home from Bali following the car bomb
explosion in the resort of Kuta on Saturday night.
Latest
figures suggest 188 people have died from the blast, which happened outside the
Sari nightclub, with 33 Britons among the dead.
Operators
are following Foreign and Commonwealth Office advice which warns against all
non-essential travel to Indonesia.
Kuoni
has 371 clients in Bali, none of whom were affected by the explosion.
ABTA
said agents should also follow FCO advice and offer clients an alternative
holiday, the chance to postpone a holiday, or a full refund.
“British holidaymakers are extremely
resilient,” a spokesman said. “They still want to go on sunshine
breaks. It is more likely they will think about where they’re going to go
rather than if they’re going to go.”
