ABTA aviation director Sandy MacPherson has thrown his
hat into the ring to succeed the industry body’s president Stephen Bath.
At present, MacPherson is the only member to declare
he will stand, although ABTA aviation committee vice-chairman John Harding has
also expressed an interest. Bath will stand down next year after serving the
maximum term of three years in the job.
MacPherson said he would make fighting
red tape his number one priority if he got the job. “We have to draw a line in
the sand and stand up for our rights,” he said.
