Buzz sets sights on business travellers

NEW low-cost airline Buzz is targeting business travellers through flexible tickets.

Some 10% of the airline’s 50,000 bookings up to its launch last Tuesday were for Open Deal tickets, the most popular with business passengers.

Commercial director Tony Camacho claims business passengers are leaving carriers such as British Airways to try out Go, EasyJet and Ryanair.

A restricted Buzz offer, called Done Deal, currently leads in at £50 return to Paris. Open Deal, the flexible ticket, starts at £100 one-way to Paris. The carrier has launched seven destinations including the French capital, Frankfurt, Berlin, Milan, Dusseldorf, Vienna and Lyons.

From March 27, it will add four more year-round routes, Helsinki, Marseilles, Hamburg and Bordeaux, as well as three summer-only routes, Jerez in Spain and Montpelier and Toulouse in France.
