EUROSITES
UK sales manager John Escott has left the company after owners Holidaybreak
decided to scrap the brand.
Escott
was one of three sales and marketing staff whose contracts were not renewed
last week. The others were e-marketing executive Mary Greenwood and direct
marketing executive Helen Scholey.
Escott,
who joined shortly after Holidaybreak acquired the camping operator from
MyTravel last October for £30 million, said: “I knew this was a possible
outcome. EuroSites has had a chequered year, partly due to world events, and it
makes absolute sense for Holidaybreak to focus trade sales on Keycamp.”
Escott
will join brochure distribution firm Au Logistics, whose major clients include
First Choice and Thomas Cook Holidays.
Holidaybreak
camping division managing director Jim Crew said he wanted to retain Escott but
could find no suitable role for him in the company.
He added that scrapping the EuroSites brand would
release more funds for Keycamp, its leading trade brand in the camping market.
