Edinburgh City Car Club, which runs in partnership with Budget, has been expanded with the opening of a new parking station at the Slateford Green car-free housing development. The pay-as-you-drive scheme is designed to encourage people to rent cars rather than buy a vehicle.
n broker connect adds to airport locations
Broker Connect Car Rental has expanded its partnership with UK supplier Europcar, which will now also be providing vehicles in Spain, France and Switzerland. The move enables Connect to offer on-airport offices in destinations such as Madrid, Barcelona, Nice, Paris, Geneva and Zurich.
n national car rental plugs eurorate offer
National Car Rental has launched a EuroRate, offering a Vauxhall Vectra or similar in 11 European countries, including the UK, for 39 euros (about £24) a day. The rate includes collision-damage waiver, personal accident insurance, theft protection and up to 200 miles per day. Extra miles are charged at 40p a mile.
