Flights hit by Hurricane Frances

THOUSANDS of passengers have had flights to Florida
disrupted as it braces itself for another hurricane.

Hurricane Frances, reported to be heading towards the state at
145 mph, has forced UK airlines to cancel flights today and
tomorrow, with Sunday flights under review.

Some 2,000 passengers will be hit as British Airways cancels
four return flights to Miami and one to Orlando.

Thomas Cook has cancelled three flights from Glasgow and one
from Gatwick departing today, and one Manchester flight tomorrow
has been scrapped. All flights went to Orlando.

Virgin Atlantic has cancelled three outgoing and three incoming
flights from Gatwick to Orlando, as well as one from Manchester to
Orlando and one from Heathrow to Miami.

American Airlines cancelled its Heathrow to Miami flight today
as well as an incoming flight tomorrow morning.

It says it is expecting further disruption to Caribbean as well
as Florida destinations.
