TAILOR-MADE specialist Travel 4 has expanded its 400 Ways to America programme for 2000, and added a dedicated US city-breaks brochure to its portfolio.
The operator said the Mexican resorts of Cancun and Cozumel were introduced on a nightly basis following demand for two-centre stays with Florida. Prices start at £35 per person per night.
The expanded Florida content includes a double-page spread on Disney World, with accommodation from £30 per person per night; as well as a greater range of hotels in Orlando with stays from £14.
The private villas and homes section – one of Travel 4’s fastest-growing Florida products, has also been expanded.
New locations include New Port Richey, Treasure Island, Madeira Beach, Bradenton and Sanibel Island on the Gulf Coast as well as West Palm Beach. A three-bed private home sleeping six with a pool costs from £791 for a week.
Discounted winter rates on some California self-drive tours are another new development. The 22-day Western Discovery itinerary, for example, leads in at £904 for travel from January 5-March 31 – a saving of £162 per person on summer prices and including accommodation and car hire.
Travel 4 has also expanded its choice of coach tours for 2000. New options include a luxury Washington DC and Williamsburg tour from £1,101, which includes most meals; a 10-day Copper Canyon Adventure from Tucson in Arizona to El Paso in Texas from £909, also including most meals; and an eight-day Scenic West round-trip from Los Angeles from £428 for the tour and accommodation only. Air fares are not included in any of these packages.
On the independent front, Travel 4 has expanded its 12-day Scenic Shores of the Great Lakes self-drive itinerary to include a night’s stay in both Chicago and the Amish community of Nappanee in Indiana to add variety. Prices start from £690 per person twinshare, excluding air fares.
Also for the first time, the tailor-made specialist is offering fully inclusive daily rates for independent motorhome rental, bringing it into line with its coverage on car hire. One-week prices start at £139 and now include transfers to pick-up point, basic liability insurance, 150 free miles per day, as well as local taxes and equipment.
Travel 4’s first US city-breaks programme, valid until March 31, features two-night inclusive stays at a choice of three to five-star hotels in six northeast destinations. These include New York, Boston, Washington DC, Philadelphia, Chicago and Minneapolis. Flights are with United or American Airlines and prices start from £322 twinshare in Philadelphia.
