Adventure tour operator Intrepid Travel has launched two local operating companies in Latin America.
The company will combine head office management in Peru and Ecuador, with experienced local staff and established local network and assets.
Stephen Fallows has been appointed as general manager of Intrepid Latin America, moving from group operations manager in Australia.
“We have been in Latin America for several years, however we have never had our own operating companies there before,” he said. “Several months ago we recognised the need to establish our own business in the region to ensure that clients received the same quality of experience in Latin America as they do in Asia and Europe.”
Intrepid’s Latin America 2007 programme will launch more than 55 trips in the coming weeks, covering 13 destinations throughout central and south America. The company has also acquired its own boat so customers can explore the Galapagos Islands.
Meanwhile, Intrepid is back at the World Travel Market exhibition after a six-year absence. Martin Crabb, managing director Guerba, Darrell Wade, CEO Intrepid and Robyn Nixon, global sales and marketing manager Intrepid, will be available for interview.
Intrepid has also launched a new website to guide customers through their options in adventure holidays.
