Gullivers Sports has signed a deal with Club Med to charter one of its cruise ships during the Rugby World Cup 2007 in France.
Gullivers, which is the official travel agent for tickets for the World Cup, will take over 394-passenger Club Med 2 for three days to tie in with the quarter final games in Marseille in October.
Ex England star Martin Johnson and ex-springbok Joel Stransky will be onboard along with players from rugby club Leicester Tigers when the ship departs from Nice before heading to St Tropez before stopping in Marseille for the games.
Club Med head of sales Steve O’Loughlin said: “Club Med 2 is ideal for this type of event, allowing guests absolute privacy and a standard service that is second to none.”
Gullivers chairman John Hall said: “Without doubt this Marseille Quarter Final weekend will be a titan struggle involving England, Wales, Australia and South Africa and what better way to be part of it on club Med 2.”
