A first UK conference on film tourism should add to the attraction of the inaugural British Tourism Week planned by the UK inbound industry next March.
The London International Film Tourism Conference is targeted at tour operators, destinations, attractions and marketing companies and follows the success of movies such as The Da Vinci Code in boosting tourism.
British Tourism Week (March 12-18) aims to increase awareness of the industry’s importance to the UK economy and is the brainchild of tourism agency VisitBritain, inbound operators’ association UKinbound and lobbying group the Tourism Alliance.
It will include the British Travel Trade Fair and UKinbound Convention in Birmingham.
The film conference is planned on March 15-16 at the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) in Piccadilly, London. The organiser is event management company and consultancy The Tourism Business.
