Low-cost airline Zoom launched a new service from London Gatwick to Bermuda today, ending British Airways’ monopoly on the route.
Zoom will operate two direct flights a week on the route, using Boeing 767-300s, with one-way fares starting from £199 including taxes and fees.
John Boyle, Zoom Airlines co-owner of Ltd, said: “Competition is long overdue and Zoom’s arrival will provide a welcome alternative for people who’ve had no choice but to pay BA’s high fares to Bermuda for the last 40 years.”
Zoom also flies from five UK airports to eight destinations in Canada and last week announced new services between London Gatwick and New York JFK, with fares starting at £129 one-way.
