Flights to Frankfurt from Stansted and Manchester are being added to Ryanair’s winter 2017 schedule.
The budget carrier will run two flights a day from Stansted and six a week from Manchester to the German city.
A spokesman for the airline said: “We are pleased to announce two new winter routes to Frankfurt am Main from London Stansted and Manchester starting this October as part of our growing UK winter 2017 schedule.
“These new routes, which will go on sale on the Ryanair.com website this week, will be ideal for both business and leisure customers, as we connect London and Manchester with one of Europe’s key cities.”
The carrier’s full winter timetable from Manchester will be unveiled shortly while Frankfurt joins previously announced new winter routes to Aalborg, Oradea and Pardubice from Stansted.
Manchester Airport chief executive, Ken O’Toole, said: “It is pleasing to see Ryanair continue to expand their route network at Manchester.
“Frankfurt is popular with leisure passengers and a key business market for the north.
“That is why it is hugely positive to be able to offer passengers more choice in terms of how they access the destination from Manchester airport.”
Stansted aviation director, Mats Sigurdson, said: “Frankfurt Main is another great addition to Stansted’s route network and more good news for the region, particularly business passengers wanting regular and convenient access to one of Europe’s key cities.
“The route will also be very popular with passengers wishing to take advantage of the extensive long-haul connections on offer at Frankfurt.”
