Monarch expects a 20% increase in passenger numbers over the Easter weekend compared to last year.
The Canary Islands and mainland Spain, including Tenerife, Malaga and Alicante, are the most popular destinations for flight-only travellers over the Easter holidays.
Tenerife and Lanzarote are the top destinations over the school holidays for those booking with Monarch Holidays, which has seen a 50% year-on-year rise in bookings.
Monarch chief commercial officer Ian Chambers said: “As always, Easter is a very busy time and it is great to see the positive year-on-year increases for both flights and holidays.
“We are also introducing new routes to Stockholm, Porto, Zagreb, Split and Valencia, giving our customers even wider choice this summer season.
“And with Monarch’s no overbooking policy and genuine, friendly service, customers can be sure of a nice flight to get them on their way.”
