Cans, bottles, nappies and cigarette packets are among the items left in mess at Ibiza airport amid strikes by cleaners.
Passengers have taken to social media to report that toilets were closed and posted pictures of bins overflowing.
Images posted on Twitter showed bottles strewn across the floors of security and a Ryanair flight to Manchester was among those departing Ibiza to be delayed on Monday, May 22.
Low cost carrier easyJet has put a statement on its website, warning passengers of the strike, which the airline said began on May 17, and advising them to use on-board facilities.
“Please be aware that during this time the terminal and facilities in the building may not be cleaned,” it said. “We therefore recommend using our facilities on-board our aircraft or before travelling to the airport.
“Although this situation is outside of our control we’re very sorry to anyone affected and inconvenience caused.”
