EasyJet smash £10m barrier in Unicef fundraising

EasyJet passengers have raised more than £10 million for Unicef through onboard collections on each of the airline’s 1,500 daily flights.

After reaching the milestone figure, the airline will hold a special one-day collection for Unicef to help the fight against polio on Tuesday.

Since 2012, the Unicef and easyJet Change for Good partnership has helped to vaccinate more than 19 million children against polio.

In addition to this 5.3 million mothers and babies have been vaccinated against other deadly diseases.

Tina Milton, head of cabin services at easyJet, said: “Our passengers have always been extremely generous for past collections.

“We are hoping we can count on the donations of the 200,000 passengers who will be flying with easyJet on World Polio Day to continue to build on our £10 million achievement.”
