Slip, slap, slop – and keep it covered Down Under

WITH the ABTA convention just around the corner, Tourism Queensland is urging the 1,600 delegates to take care in the scorching Aussie sun.

The tourism board has put together some handy tips for delegates to ensure they return to the UK looking tanned and healthy and not like bright red lobsters.

The golden rule is contained in the slogan Slip, Slap, Slop – slip on a shirt, slap on a hat and slop on some sunscreen. People should also remember to avoid the sun at lunchtime when it is more dangerous, use lotion with a sun-protection factor of 15 or higher and keep reapplying on a regular basis. And finally, remember you don’t have to be in direct sun to burn because buildings, sand and water can all reflect sunlight.
