Self-drive sightseeing firm aims to raise trade profile

A UK self-drive sightseeing firm aims to raise its trade profile with training and fam trips for agents.

The first travel trade initiative by Yonda, which launched earlier this year, involves a UK sales mission and an agent training guide.

Two fam trips to London have been organised for today (Thursday) and late January.

Yonda runs a fleet of automatic, two-seat convertible Smart Cars to operate personal tours of the capital from its Park Lane base.

The company is working with b2me Tourism Marketing in a bid to forge strong new UK and international partnerships.

Yonda plans a spring US sales mission and a Japanese tour operator focus group, to assess opportunities in the market.

Co-founder James Kafton said: “2017 has been a great year following our May launch and we want to continue this success into 2018, which is why we’re investing in the travel trade.

“Our initiative will allow us to reach new markets and develop a range of diverse partnerships.

“The new training guide, along with the sales missions and fam tours, will also provide agents with the tools they need to successfully sell our product.”
