Somewhere2stay extends £10 deposit scheme

Somewhere2stay.com has extended its trade campaign offering accommodation deposits of £10 until the end of February.

Head of product and commercial Ian Hailes said the deposits would be available on both apartment and hotel bookings made from the programme which offers a total of more than 16 million room nights.

The Cosmos-owned bedbank’s deposits are available in addition to discounts of up to 30% on certain properties and comes as the industry continues to trade in a depressed market around 20% down.

Hailes said: “We want to help agents get in as much early business as possible.  We’ve not had deposits as low as this before but neither has our industry had to go through times quite as difficult as they are at the moment.

“With prices starting from just £2 per person per night on self-catering and all inclusive properties offered from just £12 per night, as well as free child places at over 500 hotels in the programme, we’re confident agents won’t find better value in the marketplace.”
