Agents told to reissue Hotels4u and Med Hotels vouchers

Agents have been asked to reissue hotel and transfer vouchers from Hotels4u and Med Hotels as previously issued vouchers may contain incorrect information.

Possible problems with the vouchers have arisen following the rationalisation of the companies’ ground handling operations after they were both acquired by Thomas Cook. As a result, the vouchers could contain incorrect contact details.

A Thomas Cook spokesperson said the company had not yet been made aware of any problems, and the reissue of vouchers was a precautionary measure. Nonetheless, agents should reprint vouchers using an up-to-date XML feed for customers travelling in the future.

A Hotels4u spokesperson said: “Following the merger of hotels4u.com and medhotels.com, the decision was taken to consolidate our overseas ground handlers. All agents with customers affected by a change in ground handlers have been contacted and issued with new vouchers, which include updated overseas contact details for their customers.”
