Sandals Montego Bay in Jamaica has completed its refurbishment, with the opening of an over-the-water wedding chapel and Latitudes over-water bar.
Also added to the all-inclusive resort are swim-up suites, two restaurants and a refurbished lobby and main bar.
The Latitudes Over Water bar is the second from Sandals, following the first at Sandals South Coast in Jamaica.
Built just off the beach, the bar features hammocks suspended above the water, in which guests can relax.
Meanwhile, the Over-the-Water Serenity Wedding Chapel (pictured) has a glass floor aisle and can host up to 40 guests for weddings.
The new dining options are Butch’s Steak & Seafood – named after Sandals Resorts International’s founder and chairman, Gordon ‘Butch’ Stewart – and Soy, which serves sushi and Asian cuisine.
Sandals Montego Bay was the first resort opened by Sandals Resorts in 1981 and is described by Stewart as the brand’s ‘hallmark resort’.
“I am very proud of how far Sandals has come since 1981, and I am very proud of where we’re going,” he said.
The resort also offers a new Palms Bar, and opened The Jerk Shack in autumn 2018, offering Jamaican cuisine.
A new conference centre is available to groups staying on resort.
