AIRTOURS chairman David Crossland has refused to give up the battle for First Choice after revealing he is considering a legal challenge against the European Commission.
It was widely expected the Helmshore-based operator would reluctantly accept the EC decision to block Airtours’ bid for its rival.
But Crossland, who has twice been foiled in attempts to buy the Crawley-based operator, said an appeal to the European court may be launched.
“It is something we are seriously considering,” said Crossland. “We will sit down, look at the cost implications and how much management time it will take, and make a decision.”
Crossland said a final decision will be made within a month.
“The EC was not really prepared to listen to what we had to say,” he added.
