AIRTOURS-owned Direct Holidays is expanding its operations into the Midlands and the south as part of its plans to increase capacity from 350,000 to 500,000 by next year.
Direct has opened a call centre in Bristol and will have offices in the East Midlands and Birmingham by Christmas.
Managing director Duncan Wilson said: “When Airtours acquired us just over 12 months ago, our three-year aim was to carry in excess of 500,000 customers at profitable margins. We are well on course to achieve that.”
Wilson said the new call centres are in regions where new departure airports are being introduced.
Expansion into the south is expected with Direct looking at operating from Gatwick, Heathrow and Luton.
Direct Holidays has recently moved its headquarters from London to Glasgow due to limited office space.
