Sandals chief executive Adam Stewart is to be quizzed on the company’s responsible tourism policies in a question and answer session at World Travel Market.
The head of the Caribbean all-inclusive resorts company will be questioned on the challenges facing the travel industry as it seeks to become more sustainable.
Stewart will be interviewed in a “HOTseat” session by BBC World news and current affairs broadcaster Stephen Sackur on November 10 at ExCeL in London.
The session will follow the WTM World Responsible Tourism Day opening ceremony and presentation of the Virgin Holidays Responsible Tourism Awards.
Stewart took over in 2006 from his father Gordon ‘Butch’ Stewart, who founded the company 30 years ago.
He oversees all areas of operations for the resort empire, which employs 10,000 people across 22 properties in the Caribbean.
WTM chairwoman Fiona Jeffery said: “Adam is a straight-talking, dynamic resort leader for the 21st century. It should be a fascinating, thought-provoking session.”
The event closes with a networking reception.
