A new luxury passenger lounge is due to open at Newcastle airport in time for summer 2020.
Room for up to 100 passengers to be seated will be available with views of the runway.
Dedicated working zones will also be available for business travellers, with desk space, charging ports and super-fast Wi-Fi.
Passengers will be able to pre-book access from January via the Newcastle airport website or app. Cost of access has not yet been disclosed.
The airport’s third executive lounge will be in addition to an Aspire Lounge and a British Airways facility.
Airport CEO Nick Jones said: “Airport lounges are becoming increasingly popular, and with the introduction of this new premium lounge in summer 2020, this will ensure we are satisfying customer demand.
“We are working closely with the designers to create a high-quality facility that responds to range of customer requirements including our business customers.
“Customers will be able to enjoy panoramic views of the runway, with an excellent range of food and drink on offer – we look forward to unveiling more information in the coming months, including the name.”
Councillor Iain Malcolm, leader of South Tyneside Council, added: “The new lounge is evidence that the airport is constantly investing and going from strength to strength – whilst at the same time generating millions of pounds for the local economy.”
