Survey is bag for business

YOU would have thought members of airline frequent-flyer schemes and those paying for the privilege of travelling business class wouldn’t worry about losing their luggage.

Not so, according to an International Airline Passenger Association survey of travellers who have experienced luggage problems.

More than 60%said they had to wait almost 6hrs to retrieve their baggage and a third of frequent flyers have had to survive a whole day without them.

The prospect of compensation will not always wipe away the tears. A staggering 65% of luggage losers do not get compensation, or even an apology.

Perhaps not surprisingly, many travellers have a contigency plan and ensure they always take a clean pair of underwear in their handluggage.
