Seriously Travel collapses as debts mount up to £100,000

TURKEY specialist Seriously Travel has collapsed with reported debts of £100,000.

The London-based company, which also traded as Seriously Turkey and Singles Abroad, had an Air Travel Organisers’ Licence to sell 6,700 holidays each year. It currently has 200 customers abroad. The Civil Aviation Authority says it is arranging for those customers to finish their holiday and fly home. Refunds will be given to 300 people with forward bookings. All holidays booked but not yet taken will be cancelled.

The operator was unavailable for comment but Turkish Tourist Office UK director Savas Kuce said the company was in debt by £65,000 to one of its Turkish suppliers. He added that the collapse was not related to Turkey’s earthquake or proximity to Kosovo.
