Waldorf Astoria opens in London

The latest Waldorf Astoria hotel has opened in west London.

The 137 room London Syon Park hotel is surrounded by the 200 acres of parkland of the Grade 1 listed Syon Park estate.

The estate is owned, as it has been for the past 400 years, by the Duchy of Northumberland.

The hotel is seven miles from Heathrow Terminal 5 and was opened by Hilton president Chris Nassetta and colleagues on Friday.

Waldorf Astoria is Hilton’s luxury brand of landmark hotels, with each one designed to be as individual and high end as the brand’s namesake, The Waldorf=Astoria Hotel in New York.

The next openings for the brean will be in Berlin later this year and Jerusalem in 2012.
