Cruise chiefs join Trump’s US turnaround effort

The bosses of the three largest US cruise line groups are among travel industry leaders joining an economic revival initiative from coronavirus revealed by president Donald Trump.

All parts of industry are represented, with the cruise sector including Micky Arison of Carnival Corporation, Richard Fain of Royal Caribbean and Frank Del Rio of Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings.

Bosses of Marriott, Hilton, Hyatt, Wyndham, InterContinental Hotels Group, United Airlines and Uber are also involved among the wide-ranging group of more than 200 leaders from across multiple industries.

They will form 17 ‘Great American Economic Revival’ industry groups, the White House announced.

“These bipartisan groups of American leaders will work together with the White House to chart the path forward toward a future of unparalleled American prosperity.

“The health and wealth of America is the primary goal, and these groups will produce a more independent, self-sufficient, and resilient nation.”
