Ryanair pulls out of Aberdeen

Ryanair is pulling out of Aberdeen after failing to secure a new deal to use the BAA-owned Scottish airport.

Flights to Dublin will be withdrawn after October 28 and passengers booked after that date offered refunds. The no frills carrier claimed that BAA had refused to extend a lowcost deal, or match competitive cost agreements available other UK and European airports.

“Ryanair regrets the forced closure of its one remaining Aberdeen (Dublin) route, after BAA refused an extension to our lowcost deal from October 29,” a spokesman said. The final Aberdeen–Dublin flight will depart at 2pm on October 28.
