Windstar Cruises cancels 2020 sailings over pandemic uncertainty

Windstar Cruises has cancelled all remaining cruises this year and offered affected passengers 125% future cruise credit of all monies paid.

The six-ship cruise line had hoped that the number of Covid-19 cases would be in decline at this point and the recovery from the pandemic would be faster.

A spokesperson said: “Based on what we’re seeing, we believe the most prudent way forward to keep our guests and crew safe is to postpone all Windstar sailings until next year.”

Passengers who prefer a refund can request that future cruise credit be converted to a payment equal to 100% of all paid monies to Windstar.

Windstar also revealed that it was currently reviewing and updating health and safety practices, including sanitation protocols, health screenings, adding more medical staff on board, flexible dining and crew training.
