Brand USA prepares for second European ‘Travel Week’

Brand USA is to hold the second edition of its European Travel Week from October 26-29.

The event will be the first to take place on the Brand USA Global Marketplace platform, which has been custom-built to allow the international travel industry to connect virtually with US suppliers and destinations.

The “always-on” platform is expected to feature about 150 US-based partners, ranging from destinations, regional marketing organisations, transportation services, attractions, hotels and hotel groups to inbound tour operators.

More details of Brand USA Travel Week Europe 2020 are due to be released shortly, with the event featuring one-to-one meetings in addition to marketing insight and sessions.

Chris Thompson, Brand USA chief executive, said: “We are thrilled to launch Brand USA Global Marketplace in 2020. This is a ground-breaking digital platform that will enable US partners and international audiences to foster meaningful business relationships and critical connections, at a time when it is needed most. Together, we’re building the future of US tourism.”

Tom Garzilli, chief marketing officer, added: “Our industry is resilient, and when it is safe to do so, the world will travel to the United States again. In the meantime, Brand USA Global Marketplace will inform and support our partners and keep the US top-of-mind among trade, media, and consumers.

“Brand USA Global Marketplace will ensure a ‘quick start’ back into global markets as soon as it is viable, stimulating active consideration and future travel bookings. We are all determined to welcome the world back to the United States when the time is right.”
