The Pacfic Asia Travel Association UK & Ireland plans to host a virtual Christmas gameshow in conjunction with TravelUni.
The gameshow aims to find the travel agent champions of 2020 after 20 training events held by Pata this year.
The Christmas event will be split into two Zoom events on December 3 and 10 from 3pm until 4.30pm, all designed to test agents’ knowledge of all things Pacific Asia and Christmas.
There will also be prizes on offer for agents to win.
Each event will involve five interactive rounds but each will host a different set of suppliers, who will provide a new series of questions for agents. Suppliers taking part include Tourism Australia; Tourism Northern Territory; Tourism Western Australia; Tahiti Tourisme; Hachinohe City; Taiwan Tourism Bureau; Tourism Thailand and Canopy Marketing.
There will be five rounds: suppliers choice; guess the picture; video observation; travel general knowledge; and Christmas trivia.
Agents will compete individually and the five which answer the most correctly will become the champions.
In addition, there will be a Christmas dress code for agents and the most festive agent will also receive a prize.
Trade and events executive Sharon Anderson said more than 600 agents had been trained at Pata’s virtual events this year.
She said: “We are really excited about our first ever gameshow event, a much bigger, and of course festive, version of the current virtual quizzes that we run.
“After such a difficult year, we hope to inject a little Christmas cheer, whilst boosting agents’ knowledge and morale before bookings start to pick up again in 2021.”
