Most booking Caribbean holidays from September onwards

Most Caribbean holiday bookings are being made for travel from September, according to Sandals.

People are also splashing out on flight upgrades to enhance their trips.

Latest search data from TravelSupermarket also indicates a “big shift” in bookings from September onwards and an increased share of bookings for 2022.

The company’s travel commentator Emma Coulthurst said: “As discussed before, a roadmap and support put in place by the government for when travel can resume, including free or very low cost community testing access, will be critical.”

Karl Thompson, managing director of Unique Caribbean Holidays, UK tour operator for Sandals and Beaches Resorts, said: “Over the past eight weeks, we have seen that the majority of bookings made have been based on travel between September 2021 – April 2022.

“This suggests that our customers are keen to travel this year but want to book further ahead, for dates when restrictions will hopefully have lifted.

“In addition, we are seeing an increasing rise in our guests opting to enhance their holidays by adding a flight upgrade to their journey, with premium economy flights accounting for almost half of current holiday bookings.

“This shows that our guests are looking to make their holidays more luxurious for when they can travel, offering even more to look forward to for their Caribbean break.”

The company is offering accommodation discounts of up to 45% in a sale running until February 28 on departures until 2023.
