Greek specialist Planet Holidays says it remains hopeful of negotiating a renewal of its Atol licence after being named among the firms which are late to renew.
A spokeswoman for the trade-only destination specialist said the operator was still talking to the CAA after the April 1 spring Atol deadline renewal passed.
“They [management] are still talking,” she said. “As a specialist they have worked very hard with the trade and it’s important to them not to lose that as it’s what their business is about.”
The CAA list of firms late to renew includes 55 companies and a second list of those that have not renewed contains 95, including Travelzest-owned Tapestry Collection and Air New Zealand Holidays.
On the former list notable names include travel management firm Ian Allan Travel, one of the longest standing Atol holders, and Turkey specialist Wings Abroad.
Another Turkey specialist, Regal Holidays, is also listed.
