n Marketing boss jacquet leaves budget
International marketing director Fabien Jacquet has left Budget Rent-A-Car before the end of hisprobation period. Jacquet has no job to go to and has been replaced on aconsultancy basis by former vice-president for marketing at Hertz Europe Robin Davies. A spokesman for the car rental firm said Jacquet and Budget had “mutually agreed” to part company and that Budget was not looking for afull-time replacement.
n connect makes new addition to call centre
Connect Car Rental has appointed Kelly Smith to the position of call centre sales manager. She will be responsible for the entire reservation operation for Connect as well as its sister company Travelextras. Previously Smith, who has been working in the travel industry for seven years, was corporate area sales manager with Virgin Atlantic and before that she held various positions with Carlson Wagonlit Travel.
n avis appoints two account managers
Avis has appointed two new key retail account managers, Gavin Ross and Jenny Reid, to join its travel sales department. Ross, who will be regional account manager south, was previously a travel training executive with Avis. Reid, who will be regional account manager north, makesthe move to Avis fromAirtours where her previous positions included sales account manager for specialist products and public relationsexecutive.
n europcar adds audi cabriolet to fleet
Europcar has introduced the Audi Cabriolet to its fleet. The convertible will be followed by the Audi A6 and Audi A8 later.
