Hilton signs deal to bolster Internet bookings

HILTON Hotels Corporation is looking to expand its share of bookings made directly over the Internet after signing an agreement to connect its central reservation system to the WorldRes on-line distribution network.

The two companies are currently working on developing a seamless link between Hilton’s Hilstar reservation system and WorldRes.

When the link is complete, Hilton will be able to connect via the WorldRes network to a broad range of Web-based partners, including destination guides, convention and visitor bureaux and tourismauthorities.

Users who click on to any of these sites will be able to access the Hilton Web site and make direct bookings via Hilstar.

The direct link means that Internet users will get real-time information as any availability, pricing or special offer changes made by Hilton to its CRS will be automatically updated on the Internet.
