Whole lotta love led Foxall to rocking result

AGENT champion Sue Foxall is renowned for speaking her mind as she does battle on behalf of travel agents across the land.

But it’s not all that long ago that she was engaging in something far sexier – pulling a rock star.

Sue was sweet 16 and head girl at High Park Secondary School in Stourbridge when her eyes met with those of a then little known budding musician – some fella called Robert Plant. Of course, he went on to become front man for legendary rockers Led Zeppelin.

Plant, a pupil at nearby Stourbridge Grammar School, then took Sue on a stairway to heaven as they dated for the next 12 months.

The pair met amid the smoky halls and pubs of the Midlands where Plant used to perform with his rock group, Listen. And love soon blossomed even though he was a rocker and she was a mod.

The romance remained undiscovered for years until Sue exclusively poured her heart out to Backchat. Sadly however, as with most young loves, it was not to be.

“We left school and just drifted apart,” said Sue.

But as a token of Plant’s love, he presented her with the first record his band cut, a record she has treasured. It is aptly titled You’d Better Run.

“I’ve kept it all these years and my heart still jumps a beat when I hear it,” she said.

“That record will be worth a few bob soon but unlike others in the travel business, I won’t be selling.”

Sue admitted she still has a soft spot for her former lover and occasionally sees him in the area. “We still have a chat now and again,” she said.
