Cresta calls for action to solve beds shortage

Crests has added the newly built two-star Hotel du Moulin de Paris, about two miles from Disneyland, to its programme. The number of off-site properties is now 17.



It has also included more photographs of children in the brochure. Agents say this helps to sell the product. Price panels have also been simplified.



Hallowe’en parties are featured along with Disneyland’s Bonfire Spectacular and Christmas breaks. New is the Crescend’O show, an aquatic extravaganza featuring dancers, divers and acrobats.



Prices start from £208 for a family of four staying one night at the Hotel Santa Fe between January 9 and February 9 travelling by car. It includes return Channel crossing, breakfast and unlimited theme park entry for two days.



CRESTA has called on other operators to step up pressure on Disneyland Paris to build more on-site hotels to ease the beds shortage.



The company, launching its second-edition programme for 2000, said the squeeze on hotel rooms is making it virtually impossible to add capacity.



Cresta brand manager Christine Prudence said: “Demand is exceeding supply so off-site hotels are becoming increasingly important.



“But even they are not easy to come by as Paris is so popular. We need to put pressure on Disneyland to build more on-site hotels.”
