Simon Johnson, passenger services director of P&O Ferries, is to leave the company at the end of August.
The company said Johnson’s departure was part of a reorganisation of the ferry operator’s commercial function led by commercial director Janette Bell.
Johnson is leaving the role, where he was responsible for P&O Ferries’ consumer business, multi-channel marketing and revenue management, to pursue his own business interests.
Johnson was previously chairman of the Passenger Shipping Association which was disbanded earlier this year.
He said: “I feel privileged to have been the custodian of such a strong brand. I’ve worked with some incredible people and my departure gives others the chance to step up and take on some of the many and varied commercial challenges.”
Helen Deeble, chief executive of P&O Ferries, said: “Simon can be proud of his many achievements including his work in delivering the customer experience on our two latest Dover-Calais ferries and more recently on our investments in our North Sea and Irish Sea ships.”
